This is the extraordinary book that initiated the Harmonic Convergence in August 1987 and awakened the world to the Mayan Calendar. In it, Jose Arguelles revealed three revolutionary ideas: that a great moment of human transformation awaited us as we approached 2012: that there are galactic “seasons” and that the Maya accurately recorded them; and that each person had the capability to connect directly with the energy of a beam emanating from the galactic center that contains the power to awaken the higher mind. Also inspired the film, Time is Art. More Info
Cosmos and Psyche by Richard Tarnas
From a philosopher whose magisterial history of Western thought was praised by Joseph Campbell and Huston Smith comes a brilliant book that traces the connection between cosmic cycles and archetypal patterns of human experience. Drawing on years of research and on thinkers from Plato to Jung, Richard Tarnas explores the planetary correlations of epochal events like the French Revolution, the two world wars, and September 11. Whether read as astrology updated for the quantum age or as a contemporary classic of spirituality, Cosmos and Psyche is a work of immense sophistication, deep learning, and lasting importance. Sparked by their curiosity, thousands of people have contributed to the study of Crop Circles around the world. Amongst the many who have contributed to the investigation of this phenomenon there are very few who would claim to have found the answer to its mystery. I am proud to count myself among them. This work is an attempt–only–to sketch a framework for deeper consideration of the question of Crop Circles. If you are looking for an answer, or a solution to this phenomenon’s riddle, best to look elsewhere. At best, I hope to offer only a direction, a route by which to begin tracking something very elusive (yet that seemingly wants us to follow it). For all those who have engaged with this phenomenon for some time, it is a source of deepening wonder and it is to that experience that you are invited. By Gary Bobroff (appears in Time is Art). Science Set Free by Rupert Sheldrake
Why do many phenomena defy the explanations of conventional biology and physics? For instance, when laboratory rats in one place have learned how to navigate a new maze, why do rats elsewhere in the world seem to learn it more easily? Rupert Sheldrake describes this process as morphic resonance: the past forms and behaviors of organisms, he argues, influence organisms in the present through direct connections across time and space. Calling into question many of our fundamental concepts about life and consciousness, Sheldrake (appears in Time is Art) reinterprets the regularities of nature as being more like habits than immutable laws. Man and His Symbols by Carl Jung
Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) was a Swiss psychiatrist, an influential thinker and the founder of analytical psychology (also known as Jungian psychology). Jung’s radical approach to psychology has been influential in the field of depth psychology and in counter-cultural movements across the globe. Jung is considered as the first modern psychologist to state that the human psyche is “by nature religious” and to explore it in depth. His many major works include “Analytic Psychology: Its Theory and Practice,” “Man and His Symbols,” “Memories, Dreams, Reflections,” “The Collected Works of Carl G. Jung,” and “The Red Book.”
Synchronicity by Carl Jung
Jung was intrigued from early in his career with coincidences, especially those surprising juxtapositions that scientific rationality could not adequately explain. He discussed these ideas with Albert Einstein before World War I, but first used the term “synchronicity” in a 1930 lecture, in reference to the unusual psychological insights generated from consulting the I Ching. A long correspondence and friendship with the Nobel Prize-winning physicist Wolfgang Pauli stimulated a final, mature statement of Jung’s thinking on synchronicity, originally published in 1952 and reproduced here. Together with a wealth of historical and contemporary material, this essay describes an astrological experiment Jung conducted to test his theory. Synchronicity reveals the full extent of Jung’s research into a wide range of psychic phenomena.
Synchronicity: Empower Your Life with the Gift of Coincidence by Chris Mackey
Synchronicity: the uncanny and fortuitous timing of events that seems to go beyond pure chance. Synchronicity can act as a guide along our life path, helping us through challenging times and nudging us toward self-fulfillment.Psychologist Chris Mackey offers astounding case studies, alongside a lucid explanation of the brain science underlying synchronicity and many practical suggestions for working with it, from journaling and symbol analysis to dream interpretation and ideas for accessing flow. He is convinced that synchronicity has a crucial role to play in helping us “go within” and tap intoour intuitive and spiritual selves. More info:

Healing Codes for the Biological Apocalypse by Dr. Leonard Horowitz
The Solfeggio frequencies were essentially rediscovered in the mid-1970’s by Dr. Joseph Puleo, a physician and one of America’s leading herbalists. Dr. Puleo claimed to have been intuitively guided to examine the Book of Numbers (4th book of the Hebrew Bible and 4th of five books of the Jewish Torah). In Chapter 7 of the Book, between Verses 12 and 83, Dr. Puleo used a Pythagorean method of reducing to the verse numbers and uncovered a pattern of six repeating codes. The Love frequency, 528 Hz is part of the six sacred Solfeggio tones, core creative frequencies of the Universe.

Galactic Meditation: Entering the Synchronic Order
Time, Synchronicity and Calendar Change The Visionary Life and Work of José Argüelles
Surfers of the Zuvuya was written in the 80’s and explains who the mysterious Maya really were. This short book is by José Argüelles, (the artist who inspired our film) and is about his higher self, his “dimensional double,” Uncle Joe Zuvuya. They journey from the center of the earth to the outermost reaches of the galaxy. Uncle Joe instructs Argüelles in Mayan etheric engineering, Arcturian space stations, Atlantean family histories, and much more.
Surfers of the Zuvuya is educational “science faction”. Movies likes Black Panther accomplish this on several levels by embedding ancient technology and culture into an epic story. Surfers of the Zuvuya makes galactic history fun. For folks who are scared of ET contact or the greater reality in the universe, the style and tone of this book is very palatable. As I’m reading this book, I’m getting this message; maintain this kind of tone in your movies. If we maintain this kid of sense of humor perhaps people won’t label the films as “new age” (it’s actually ancient knowledge) or too experimental.
Jose also wrote this book after Harmonic Convergence, the first synchronized global peace meditation. His son had also recently been killed in a car accident. For a human being to write something so playful after going through the highest highs and lowest lows is an incredible accomplishment.
And for everyone involved in this movement, there really seems to be little time for jokes because it simply isn’t funny – the dire need for the human race to deprogram in order to evolve. Laughter is the best medicine (at least for the human race) and being playful can help face our dark sides. Perhaps that why the dark comedy genre has become more popular over the years.
In regards to my art (music and film) – this has always been my greatest challenge. For this second film, can we expand on an unusual format by adding humor so we can reach a much larger audience? One of our goals for this film is to document the other side of the story. For example, we have been in search of a well-spoken funnyish Atheist to put in the movie. Can Atheists be funny? Well, if you happen to know one, please send them our way! And in regards to my first screenplay which I’ve been working on for 4 years now – if you were to read it you might describe it as a dark-comedy-esoteric-love -science faction.
So check out this book! It’s one wild ride! And on a more serious note, continue on the journey below…
No one can grasp the changes that are coming so quickly to our lives and Planet.
All that the higher galactic intelligences have wished for humanity to learn on a planetary scale is this: the only way to break the cycle of fear and destruction to which you have made yourselves hostage is by creating a complete planetary field of trust.
Thirty-one years ago on August 16-17, 1987 (Kin 55-56), Jose Arguelles spearheaded the Harmonic Convergence, the first synchronized global peace meditation with the purpose of synergizing the Highest Collective Intention of Humanity.
He envisioned that the synchronized intention of a human collective would create a signal more powerful than the atomic signal at Los Alamos in 1945.
This date was also the conclusion of a 1144 year Ancient Mayan prophecy of the 13 heavens and 9 hells. Arguelles put out a call for 144,000 people to meditate simultaneously at sacred sites around the world to establish a planetary receptacle to activate a new harmonic grid.
The testing and release of atomic radiation into the atmosphere of Earth on July 16, 1945, Kin 34, set up a signal which drew the immediate attention of the higher galactic intelligences.
He foresaw that with enough humans synchronized with peaceful intentions, the benevolent galactic intelligences could then stream communication through high frequency beams to catalyze the mental field of the planet and set up a new harmonic grid.
This would activate a new planetary field of trust and initate the passage from competitive conflict to a time of collaborative cooperation. He envisioned this moment to be the first step toward transitioning civilization from a military state of terrror to a “de-industrialized, decentralized, post-military planetary society.”
In this vision all governmental and political structures would be replaced by vast numbers of bioregional local cells. He layed out plans for the dismantling of nuclear plants and all related armaments industries and technologies as well as the deployment of new technologies and worker reeducation programs.
He envisioned that by 2013, galactic synchronization, humanity would have evolved into beings possessing a brilliantly simple yet sophisticated technology based on the matching of solar and psychic frequencies.
At this stage, the planetary grid would be operating on non-polluting technology, and with the “majority of humans living comfortably in small bioregional groups, strung together as information nodes on a communications system finally free of wires.”
He envisioned the transformation of technology, through the recognition that our own bodies (activated to their full bio-electromagnetic capacity) are the best and most sophisticated technology there is. He put forth that the Human Body, once awakened and properly activated, is the path beyond technology and the meaning of the Galactic Mayan return.
All of his subsequent work had as its purpose the harmonic realignment of human, planet and cosmos, as well as practices and codes to turn on our forgotten technology via Galactic Mayan Time Science with its simplest daily application of the 13 Moon calendar.
“The meaning of the return of humanity as a planetary being bound by one common timing standard, the natural universal frequency of synchronization, is that the human mind and spirit will again become attuned to a perception of harmony and oneness with Nature.” –Jose Arguelles/Valum Votan
31 Years Later: 1987 – 2018
Thirty one years later and the world is vastly different than this vision. Technology has been weaponized through cyber warfare. Transhumanism and the hybrid age is rapidly advancing in the technological war against humanity. Even language is weaponized these days.
There is a vast gulf between our civilization and the recognition of earth as a total living system.
The collective did not enter the harmonic timeline. Yet there are still groups and inviduals evolving in the new frequency and strengthening the harmonic grid. We send infinite gratitude to these beings from every tradition, for it is their light that allows others to see in the dark.
We are now in a final battle of the war of souls. Everything appears inside out and upside down. A Great Uncertainty pervades. No one is exempt from the fluctuating waves now bombarding our Planet.
Misunderstandings and aggression are rife. People are suspicious of each other. Depression and substance abuse is skyrocketing. Suicides are on the rise.
We are living in not just a polarized world but a multi-polarized world. Multiple forces, both on and off planet, compete simultaneously to influence the human mind. Some seek to enslave and dominate, while others seek to empower and liberate.
The primary mode of enslavement is through division and distraction. With so much information at our fingertips, people are losing their ability to introspect.
Our job is to stay awake, keep and open heart and not become hypnotized. Those with the most illusions and attachments suffer the most. Much compassion is required. Stay open to update your perception as new knowledge is revealed.
All the veils are now being opened. Many cannot handle it and so split off into “comfortable” realms of the Unreality of their choosing. Every day, it seems, there are more versions of reality to choose from as the fragmentation is now quantum.
But there is only one Path that gives Life. That Path is the Reconnection to Primal Source by whatever name you call it.
We can experience this reconnection by focalizing our mind into its Unoriginated Condition, while at the same time maintaining Omnipresent Consciousness, i.e. “Be still and know I am GOD.”
Once we reach this Center point we can feel the New Living Cycle that exists on its parallel track of which many are attuned to. But this Cycle, or new paradigm, cannot come into full Regenerative Focus until we, as a collective move out of the Past vibratory entanglements into the Present fractal-free waveform.
This requires an ever deepening purification of mind and heart, with the willingness to let go of preconceptions and face the possibility that Reality may not be anything like what we thought. The Harmonic Convergence is still happening and will continue to happen until everything is brought back to at-one-ment.
Those who are truly attuned to the Harmonic Convergence cannot be so if they are in judgement even against the fundamentalists. The point is the expression of universal compassion, forgiveness, and unconditional love for all of life. Those who are without sin shall cast the first stone. Sin may be understood to mean, that which interferes with another’s free will. Harmonic Convergence is the exercise of the common free will on behalf of all.–Jose Arguelles/Valum Votan
If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself. If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation. –Lao Tzu
It’s the end of the world… and the beginning of joy
Did you get the upgrade?
I’m feelin it, y’all. The experience of living is changing as I become more and more woke. The events of my life have taken on a familiar quality, like I’m re-watching a movie I forgot I saw long ago. There’s the strange, sometimes unsettling sense that all of this has already happened?—?not just snippets of Déjà vu but an overarching feeling that I went through living and dying and the credits rolled on the screen but when they did I was a very different person. Back then, I could follow the story but I never got its deeper meaning. I know many others are experiencing this shift in perspective as well.
There are hunches and glimpses?—?a feeling of something larger than ourselves unfolding all around us. As the world seems to get darker and tilt ever closer towards complete chaos, I can hear a different, ancient story being told in music, I can see it when the sun hits the pavement at a certain angle and everything lights up?—?the street, the parked cars, the air itself…I quite literally feel it in the wind. Hold tight, it whispers, things are changing for the better… There are messages in art, but also in ads, and in silly TV shows, and on the back of food wrappers and in the steady eyed stare of a child. It’s as though the whole universe is trying desperately to tell us something by any means necessary. It’s bigger than the never ending fear that’s sold on the news, it’s bigger than the weather report. It’s the birth of a new era of joy?—?and it’s not easy to put into words what’s happening, but that’s what I’m going to try and do here.
Can you feel it?
There are many different ways to tell it, but one interpretation of what’s happening is that we’re moving from an era in which “time is money”, into one in which “time is art”. This is a part of a far bigger philosophy developed by the late Jose Arguelles, whose largely overlooked body of work changed my life and will one day soon, I believe, be considered ahead of its time in its description of a new, more psychically connected and joyful way of being. Arguelles made the observation that from our clocks to our calendars to our computers, humans seek to control time (and one another) by treating it like something mechanical and quantifiable. In doing so, Arguelles argues that we’ve lost touch with the flow of natural time, including the 28 day, 13 month cycle of the moon and the changing seasons. To be disconnected from natural time is to be disconnected from the experience of our oneness with the Earth and everything on it. This, he argued in a series of beautiful, captivating books, was the central glitch in our system and the reason for most, if not all, of the pain and suffering we feel. To fix this glitch would be like fixing the alignment of an otherwise well-running car?—?instead of the parts grinding against one another, everything would fit and flow as it was meant to. To this end, Arguelles created a new calendar that was attuned to the Earth and overlapping cycles of time based on the work of the ancient Mayans. By following this galactic calendar and detaching from mechanized time, Arguelles felt we could free ourselves, slowly but surely, from the crushing destruction of the capitalist system. As he wrote:
“Who owns your time owns your mind. Change your time and you change your mind. Change your mind and you change your world.” ~Jose Arguelles, Manifesto for the Noosphere
The idea that we can change our understanding of time and transform our experience of being in the world is nothing short of revolutionary. Time is one of the constants that underpins our lives?—?to question the nature of its existence is to question such basic things like why we breathe, or the fact that there is day and night. But once we start investigating what time really is, the effect is such that our entire understanding of the world is changed. We see how deeply we’ve accepted that “time is money”, in that money and the pursuit of it dictates how we spend most of our time, whether we like it or not. We’re born into a world in which we have to pay just to live?—?buying or renting a house and shopping for groceries while saving enough to pay for the water bill. This is the so-called normal state of affairs, but if we stop and think about it, even for just a little bit, it strikes most of us as far less than optimal and quite possibly misguided and insane.
Jose Arguelles, author and visionary artist
Although it’s less clear to most what “time is art” means, there’s something about it that immediately inspires. I watch people’s eyes light up when they hear it— as though this was a forgotten bit of information they know is true on an intuitive level. But what does it mean practically? How can we actually live our lives like works of art, especially if we aren’t trained to be artists? I doubt that what Arguelles envisioned was a world filled with crappy, second and third rate art. For him, the calendar came first: he believed that if we dropped the Gregorian calendar and went back to the advanced time-keeping abilities of the ancient Mayans, we’d start the process of complete transformation towards living time as art. While I believe he was probably right, and that by changing the way we keep time we’d change the way our minds work, I long had the hunch that attempting first to live time as art might be more feasible than actually converting the whole world to a new calendar system. Now I see that’s exactly what’s happening?—?I see time is art all around me. I’ve read about it, obsessively thought about it and wrote about it myself?—?I even made a documentary film about it?—?but the question of what it means to truly embody “time is art” has become clear to me only now, as the blockbuster ending of a long, twisted story plays out across America and the world.
Living “time is art” means living time as joy. And the only way to get to joy is by going through the deepest, darkest pit of our most fucked-up fears.
It’s precisely because things have become so dark on such a large scale that the opportunity to make this change is more available than ever. It’s a journey that each of us as individuals must take to come to the peace and higher vibe of living time as art. This has always been the case. The invitation has been going out since the beginning of time, but only the most sensitive among us could hear it?—?the poets, philosophers, artists and mystics. Their gift of being able to tune in and hear what others could or would not hear lifted them up to the stars with inspiration and dropped them to the depths of hell with madness, as they were often misunderstood and damned by society because of it. In order to hear it one has to step out of the noise and “blah, blah, blah” busyness of the everyday. Ironically, this becomes easier to do during difficult times when the flimsy pasteboard structures and routines of life as we know it falls apart, and we’re forced to listen and pay attention to the larger story of the biosphere?—?not just as a big blue orb that we happen to live on, but that is actually a part of us.
We don’t live on the Earth. We ARE the Earth.
I believe that Trump’s presidency and the rising resistance to it are the sign that a larger, collective shift towards living time as art is underway. While it may seem that the sum total of pain and despair is increasing in the world, especially among the most vulnerable?—?the poor and the marginalized who have always been under attack?—?the doorway to the passage from darkness to light has never been open wider.
As the old world crumbles around us, we must dream a new one into being
This is a worldwide revolution that starts with a collective act of opening up to connect with nature and one another. In doing so, we will quickly reactivate long forgotten abilities. As the resistance to Trump continues to grow, we’re discovering that just by gathering together, sharing space and loving one another without judgement we start to feel better— but I don’t think we’ve yet fully grasped the epic scale of the collective transformation that’s currently underway. In addition to feeling healthier and more empowered, we’re also realizing that the power to communicate psychically and heal ourselves and one another are no longer the domain of made-up superheroes. These are things the most ordinary person can do. It seems crazy but it’s true: all those comic book stories we told were really about US. In the same way that Superman must tear apart his capitalist uniform/suit jacket to reveal the “S” on his chest, we must do the difficult, personal work of opening up our scared, wounded hearts. In the era of time equaling money, the heart was subjugated to the so-called rationality of the mind. It’s more advanced capacities were closed off in a prison of man-made shame and judgments. Now, in this new era, long suppressed creative impulses and love for the earth and one another are rising like a phoenix from the destruction of the old, broken paradigm. The invitation for our species to change and evolve is being downloaded directly into each of our consciousness. It’s coming through dreams and synchronicities. Through vibes and by falling in love. This isn’t about a mental realization. Instead, we’re each being asked as individuals to shift our consciousness to meet the higher level frequency of the broadcast that the earth has been sending out.
It sounds like science fiction but it’s not. Ever since the election you may have been feeling like David after the Dentist, but I can assure you this is, indeed, real life. And it’s only going to get wilder.
This surreal state we’ve entered is part of the process of remembering who we are. The Grand Swindle of the last several centuries has included the wholesale covering up of our magic powers. My intention is to document this awakening. I want to explore this collective shift from darkness to a sustained, empowering experience of joy. This new blog baby will be a curated offering exploring my own and others’ experiences of living time as art and in the process, evolving into better versions of ourselves.
Art is and always has been a guide towards new, more evolved ways of being. I want to explore art as a verb that contains other verbs, perhaps all verbs at once. Time is art is not only about the finished art “product”, but about the mental, emotional and energetic preparation for art and how it’s the same way we prepare to live the best life with the most joy possible. It’s about committing oneself through endless practice, study and sacrifice, while also learning how to let go and surrender to the force of orgasmic creation BOOMS that take us to the stars and back down again. We learn what it means to ground out and go deep inside, to the root of who we are, even if that root turns out to be a hollowed out tunnel. As denizens of a sick and dying culture, we must face the (difficult?—?yet, liberating!) reality that much of our so-called self is empty space connecting us to consumption and communication nodes. We’ve become placeholders. Stopgaps. Mere cogs in the capitalist machine. But not for much longer.
On this blog, I will examine how by going with the flow, we open up to channeled information?—?some of it conscious, but much of it not. I will look at ways to delicately unpack this information without imposing our own biases and dis-eases upon them. These downloads come directly from the Earth, from the plants and the soil, the water and the clouds… as well as from the stars, and the galactic family who are waiting for us to step up and into our true selves.
When time equals money, dreaming is seen as an indulgence?—?a “waste” of time when there’s “real” work to be done. Now we’re learning that the “real” work of being human isn’t building empires?—?it’s heart work. We have to heal ourselves and the world. And heart work requires we have space in which to dream, which is what I want this blog to be. I want other people to join me, as contributors and curators, so let me know if you’re interested. I don’t know what it all should look like yet, but in the spirit of what I’m doing I’m not waiting until I have it all figured out.
Perhaps we could work on a multi-site, social sculpture, like back in the old blog days, when we posted intimate things into a feedback loop of love and support from like-minded strangers.
We can share words and images and sounds beamed into our hearts. Information channeled from non-ordinary states of consciousness. Whether through extreme sports or psychedelics. Falling in love and falling through the rabbit hole. This is a space not for describing the problems we face. That is being done elsewhere, in endless, anxious loops. We’re going to presume that a certain amount of wokeness is a pre-condition for experiencing time as art. Eyes open to the situation and hearts open to the solution.

Further details of Cayce’s life and work are explored in the classic book, There Is a River (1942), by Thomas Sugrue.
The idea of an alien life form that has been visiting Earth from Arcturus is frequently associated with the writings of Edgar Cayce. According to Cayce, the Arcturians are a “fifth dimensional” lifeform. They are highly advanced both technically and spiritually. Arcturus is the name of a star some 37 light-years from the sun. It includes at least a half dozen planetary bodies and is many times larger and much older than our own star and its system.
Since his early writing of this race of beings, Edgar Cayce has been referred to the father of the Arcturians. Today, many people have discovered the different way to communicate with the Arcturian beings.
Because Arcturians exist in different dimensions (not just the fifth dimension) it is now known that to communicate with the higher planes of existence, one must enter into a dream state. In this dream state many believe that Edgar Cayce entered into direct communication with the Arcturians.
Many people have claimed to have communicated with the Arcturians. For example, Norma J. Milanovich is the author of the famous book We the Arcturians, which explains the life style and way of life of these benevolent race of Arcturian Aliens.
The Arcturian legacy and mythology continues and although there are many reasons to believe that these beings are more than just a myth, we continue to explore the possibilities for compelling evidence. Edgar Cayce gave us the doorway to enter into the universe of a vast existence.
In his book, The Arcturus Probe: Tales & Reports of an Ongoing Investigation, the late philosopher, Jose Arguelles, also examines the Arcturian involvement with our system which began over three million years ago when a space colony-a galactic way station-was established on Velatropa 24.4, otherwise known as Mars. With its 40,000-year warm cycles, Mars provided the perfect experimental way station. If anything went wrong, at least those on the Arcturus system would not be affected–or so it was thought.
According to the book, some of those in command of the Martian project had not considered carefully enough the inexorable efficacy of karma, the law of cause and effect. By the time strange events began to transpire on Mars, little did anyone on Mars or Arcturus reckon the dire consequences of forgetting about their mutual existence. Thus unfolds the tale of the Arcturian experimental way station.
In The Arcturus Probe, you’ll explore the tales of the Arcturus Probe through the transmission of the Mars experience to the neighboring blue planet, V.24.3, otherwise known as Earth, where a more cautiously and intelligently supervised “repeat performance,” as Arguelles tells us, is being played out in a continuing investigation of which we are all a part.
Edgar Cayce has said in his teachings that Arcturus is one of the most advanced civilizations in this galaxy. It is the fifth- dimensional civilization that is a prototype of Earth’s future. Its energy works as an emotional, mental, and spiritual healer for humanity. It is also an energy gateway through which humans pass during death and rebirth. It functions as a way station for nonphysical consciousness to become accustomed to physicality. The Book of Knowledge: The Keys of Enoch describes it as the mid-way programming center used by the physical brotherhoods in this universe to govern the many rounds of experiments with “physicals” at this end of the galaxy.
Arcturus itself is the brightest star in the Bootes constellation, which is approximately thirty-six light years from Earth.
The Arcturians teach that the most fundamental ingredient for living in the fifth dimension is love. Negativity, fear and guilt must be overcome and exchanged for love and light.
The Arcturians work in close connection with the ascended masters whom they call the Brotherhood of the All. They also work closely with what they refer to as the Galactic Command. The Arcturians travel the universe in their starships, which are some of the most advanced in the entire universe.
One of the reasons Earth has not been attacked by warlike negative extraterrestrials has been those civilizations’ fear of the advanced starships of the Arcturians. Their ships are state-of-the-art technology. One of the starships circling the Earth is called the Starship Athena, after the Greek goddess.
Arcturian society is governed by the elders, who are revered by the people of Arcturus for their advanced knowledge, wisdom, and extremely high vibrational frequencies. The higher the vibrational frequency, the closer one is to Light, or spirit, or God.
In the Arcturian system there are no extreme temperatures. Their civilization is one that has transcended duality and lives in oneness. Professions on Arcturus are determined by a person’s vibrational frequency and the colors in his or her aura. For example, those who are in charge of taking care of the children must have violet as the predominant color in their auras, for only the wisest souls are allowed to associate with the young.
The same is true for those who are allowed to give birth. They are screened and tested in terms of their auric and vibrational frequencies, and when chosen by the elders to give birth to an Arcturian child, people go through an amazing process. The vibrations of both individuals involved are raised to a seventh- dimensional frequency for the birthing process to insure bringing in the most highly evolved souls. (The seventh-dimensional frequency is that of an ascended master.) Reproduction is an honor on Arcturus and one of the most highly regarded professions. The actual reproductive act is not performed in a physical sense as it is understood on Earth. On Arcturus it is done through a kind of mind link in which the male and female energies are perfectly balanced. Through this procreation process, some kind of electron force flows through the two beings, and it creates another being that is a replica of the link.
The new life form is then taken to a special room that emanates the proper vibrational frequencies until the being is ready for integration into a family unit on Arcturus. Many beings from Arcturus are seeded onto other planets because the high council has ordered this as a great act.
On Arcturus there is not competition. Every thought, word, deed, and product is judged by its ability to raise the vibration closer to God. If it does not, it does not exist on Arcturus. A person’s frequency of vibration is directly related to the mastery he has over his body, emotions, thoughts, actions, and creations. Arcturians have total mastery over these aspects of self. They have developed the ability to transcend the ego, the separative, lower, fear-based self. Success is judged only in terms of the measure of Light frequency. There are machines that constantly check the vibrational frequencies each individual on the planet is manifesting. If one particular Arcturian receives feedback that he is not meeting his own goals for evolution, then immediately the elders send teachers to help that individual.
The Arcturian Starships
The Arcturian starships are the finest in the entire universe. They are propelled by crystals that do not come from that planet but from a planet in the Milky Way that has not been discovered by Earthly scientists. These crystals have a way of conducting light energy from the Great Central Sun.
The Arcturians say that they not longer use computers because they long ago outgrew the need for them. They have other systems that are far more advanced. One section of the starship is a replication of Arcturus. It has the ability to take any crewmember back to Arcturus in his etheric body. This helps to strengthen and rejuvenate crewmembers who are away from home for long periods of time as they traverse the universes. Earth’s frequency is very harsh for Arcturians because of their fifth-dimensional frequency.
Arcturians don’t eat but are able to ingest energy. The Arcturians sleep for only a short time once a week, but for them it is a sacred time to soul travel and connect to higher realms of consciousness.
Another room in the Arcturian starship has a complete data bank containing every aspect of Earth life and of life on other planets as well. Arcturians are able to ingest information by means of their telepathic abilities and through their nervous systems. This process is similar to ingesting food but it occurs on an energy level. They are able to assimilate information one hundred times faster than the average human being on Earth.
An Arcturian ship has a room that strengthens the vibration of all who enter so they will not be overwhelmed by even the strongest vibrations of Planet Earth. The Arcturians are able to travel through time. They also have shuttlecraft that are global in shape which are used for activating energy points and grids on Earth that have been lying dormant for many centuries. The Arcturians have been working with Earth since life first started on this planet. They have many bases on Earth, and they also have three bases on the Moon. Many of their bases on Earth are inside mountains. Arcturians can manifest physically, but they also exist in the etheric state, so physical matter is not an obstacle to them.
There is a vaporizing section in a starship that can instantly make any person or object disappear. They use it on a person only if he has died. The amazing thing about this machine is that whatever is vaporized can be resolidified at any time in the future just by checking the ship’s records. The more I learn about Arcturus, the more Star Trek seems realistic.
Many souls are brought to the Arcturian starships during the dream state where they are worked on and helped, although the Arcturians never invade a person’s free choice as the Grays are doing. The Arcturians are here to assist humans in entering the fourth and fifth dimensions of reality and in raising their vibrational frequencies. They stand as the guardians and protectors of higher consciousness in the universe.
They are based in every country on the planet and, and in fact, have bases all over the universe. They are here to educate humanity but have had a difficult time dealing with the government and the military, who are primarily interested in military technology, not spiritual enlightenment. The Arcturians could help in an even greater and more open capacity than they are now, but the people who govern the United States and the world are so materialistically and egoistically oriented that they resist the help of these incredibly advanced beings. Instead, the U.S. government made a deal with the Grays who are very selfish beings interested only in taking over the world for their own greedy purposes.
My late brethren, Jamal Dewar, aka Capital Steez, came with perfect timing. Wielding a higher message, he revealed to all those around him through his music and his being the corruption of society and all of its constructs. He was fascinated, some would say, obsessed, with the number 47. For him this number held a higher meaning on many levels. First and foremost, he felt it was about synchronicity. He made all of his homies, including myself, aware of how this is the quintessential random number. We literally began to see it everywhere.
You can research the numerological significance of 47. Here are just a few:
47 appears to be the quintessential random number of the universe. When a number appears randomly, more often than not, that number is 47. In other other words, if you asked people to pick a number at random, more often than not, that number would be 47. Of course, if 47 shows up more than any other number then it isn’t truly random, but using the word random makes the whole phenomenon easier to describe.
From a spiritual perspective, number 47 is a combination of the energies and attributes of number 4 and number 7. The vibrations of number 4 include those of productivity and application, inner-wisdom and practical-thinking, honesty and integrity, endurance and determination, conscientiousness and discipline. Number 4 also relates to our passion and drive in life. Number 7 brings the qualities of spiritual awakening and enlightenment, intuition and inner-knowing, psychic abilities and mysticism, independence and individualism, persistence of purpose and manifesting good fortune.
On TV’s Lost, 47 people survive the plane crash. In The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Steve Carell keeps a collection of 47 G.I. Joes. Watch Monsters Inc. closely and you’ll spot an “Accident Free for 47 Days” sign on the Scare Factory floor. The 2009 blockbuster reboot of Star Trek alludes to 47 Klingon vessels being destroyed. There is even a much-viewed YouTube spoof of Jim Carrey’s The Number 23, substituting—you guessed it–the No. 47.
The Bible credits Jesus with 47 miracles.
The Declaration of Independence has 47 sentences.
There are 47 strings on a concert harp.
The tropics of Cancer and Capricorn are located 47 degrees apart.
4+7= 11 – a master number and part of the “awakening code”. Also Jose Arguelles’s kin is 11 – he brought forth the Law of Time aka the World Thirteen Moon Calendar
It wasn’t long after my friend’s unfathomable passing, (and highly questionable suicide on 12/23/12 – 12+23+12 = 47), which was only days after December 21, 2012, the precise date calculated by the great Mayans to be the end of a Great Cycle, that I received knowledge & became aware of the Law of Time. This seemingly new cosmology felt ancient and I quickly realized it had EVERYTHING to do with Synchronicity! I even found the number 47 to be ever ubiquitous throughout this 13 Moon calendar system.
The Law of Time, I found to hold the most profound yet simple teaching; our Time is not Money, Time is Art. I was able to grasp a greater vision of how we as humans have created an artificial timing system where our time here equates to how much money we can accumulate, where we are constantly stressed by this false belief of our making, and where there is never enough time…
This system of our making and continuous propagation has only served to separate us from our Selves, from each other, and ultimately, from nature. Hence, resulting in the chaos and disharmony prevalent in the world today.
It was with this vision that the idea came to me to create a documentary sort of film which would depict the way of life that my friends and I had naturally come to live each day. The idea was to film for 47 days, our adventurous and free spirited lives. By portraying a much more simple way of life we would have included the Law of Time, 13 Moon calendar as an underlying theme as we synchronized with the energies of each day.
The only problem was, we didn’t have the means to create this film at the time the vision for it first came to us. I was forced to release the vision and desire into the whole, knowing that somehow it would manifest with perfect timing.
Only several moons later, I heard about a screening for a film called Time is Art. I knew more than anything that I needed to be there. Hoping to receive more knowledge about the Law of Time from people who had probably discovered it long before my tribe and I, we went to see the film. The film was amazing but it seemed to be mostly an introduction to the concepts behind the Law of Time. We soon realized that we had come to meet the filmmakers and share with them our knowledge of this natural timing system.
Less than a year after meeting these filmmakers, Katy and Joel, I find myself to be a part of their family. Currently, we are working multiple music projects with Dream Circle, but our main focus is on creating the Time is Art sequel. It’s a slow process, but with your help, we can create another powerful work of art.
In the 11th webisode of SyncStories, I share my story about how the number 47, synchronicity, and the Law of Time brought us together.
The Cosmic Battle rages on. Loss of collective vision. Depression. Confusion. Attention spans waning. Loss of Purpose. These symptoms are part of the acceleration-densification syndrome. This is the atrophy of consciousness that occurs when the human brain is saturated with too much conflicting information.
Four years from December 21, 2012 and despite all the efforts of great teachers, prophets and seers, humanity appears more divided than ever, with much global attention now being directed toward U.S. politics.
Americas lesson is everyones lesson. Because it is the number one power, the riches of all the nations, and the world cop, the American mind is , more than any other, in a state of baffled neurosis seeking to maintain identity of control. This is a fundamental ego struggle. Ego of personal identity, ego of national identity. Both are a travesty because neither has any true reality. They are fictions, and damaging ones.–Valum Votan
As we conclude this four-year Solstice cycle (2012-2016) we are being thrust into a stage of evolution unlike any we have ever known. Radial consciousness is overtaking the linear time program, whether people realize it or not. This means higher levels of unpredictability on a level that is irrational to Old Mind patterns. In other words: Expect the unexpected. Solstice 2016 is the beginning of a Global Wake Up Call, coded by Blue Electric Hand, Kin 107 (galactic signature of Donald Trump).
We are invited to step back from our current vantage point and see a larger Picture. Is it possible that all that is occurring is specifically designed to create a longing deep and urgent for that which is Invisible and Infinite?
Our Timeship Earth is entering an entirely new Playing Board in 2017-2018. The dark corners of human unconsciousness are now coming to the surface along with much confusion and conflicting emotions.
“Most humans are so immersed in the unconsciousness of their own mind and its control by their ego that they scarcely have a clue of what is actually real and what is just conditioned made up ideas in their heads. Impacted by the effects of the cybersphere, the number of humans not in touch with their natural mind is staggering, especially when you consider the spiral of hopelessness of the problems we seem to be generating and are immersed in.” –Jose Arguelles/Valum Votan
The Global crisis is the whole system crisis of the human spirit and has its origin in the nonphysical. Planet earth is still in the Luciferan quarantine zone. Lucifer, bringer of light, is the name given to the Force responsible for numerous aberrations, both genetic and mental that have effected various star systems. Those who serve the Luciferean path reject union with the Supreme One, and dismiss it as a self-deceptive illusion. The chief function of this path is to create divisiveness and polarization, and thus distract the masses from Remembering their Essence.
Life within this quarantine zone exists in a state of perpetual war, it doesn’t matter who the enemy is as long as war is going on and the populace is supportive and angry at an “enemy.” It is through this state of perpetual war, that control is maintained over the masses. This control has infiltrated government, news media and other institutions. It also enters this 3D plane via artificial means, i.e. through different forms of technology.
Disconnected from the sacred, humans seek to understand their pain and confusion by blaming outside forces or seeking to avenge perceived “wrongs”in their lives. This will not create peace or harmony. Racism, sexism and any ism that divides us is part of the spell of false time that resides within this quarantine zone. All thought forms that divide and make one feel “superior” over another are born out of the ignorance of forgetting the Unity and equality of all essences. All of these seeming differences are an intelligence test to see if we can remember the One through the Many.
If we cannot understand and embrace the diversity of all beings on this Planet, then how can we expect to be allowed entry into the Greater Galactic Community that is teeming with diversity and varying lifeforms?
Changing Time: 13 Moons
Entry into the Greater Galactic Community is accessed through attunement to a specific timing frequency. This is the whole point of the 13 Moon Calendar Change that Messenger of Time, Jose Arguelles/Valum Votan tirelessly promoted. The issue of Time, Calendar Change and The Law Of Time cuts through all Creeds and Belief Systems, transcending Religiosity, Dogma and Political viewpoints. Time is the One factor that we can all agree on, it is the Unifying Factor of Synchronicity.
He envisioned that if this was not heeded by critical mass by Solstice 2012, then humanity would plunge ever further into darkness. Why? Because the Gregorian calendar is a fundamental matrix of disharmony programmed for inequality, war and destruction. It is the chief instrument keeping humanity enslaved in a “box” or perpetual time loop where we literally just keep playing the same movie over and over. To think outside the box, means to enter a new timing frequency.
Created and implemented by the Vatican in 1582, the Gregorian calendar, with its loaded belief systems, is a subconscious implant that has become second nature to almost the entire human population. Subconscious refers to pattern thinking. Our entire perspective of reality, what makes things real or not real to us, is the sum of patterns built up in our brain that replay over and over like Christmas and tax-time. This is what we call “consensual” reality.
From the point of view of the Law of Time, consensual reality is a function of a type of erroneous thinking that at its root creates a fundamental misperception of not only what and who we are, but what the Earth is and what we are doing on the Earth. Consider this when watching the news:
When we think about the consensual world view, which negates time and consciousness, we have to understand that there is a whole huge single mental order that is constantly talking to itself. In other words, when you read a newspaper editorial it is really only the (consensual) mind talking to itself. When you watch a news program or read the news on the Internet it is still just the (consensual) mind talking to itself. Because who is reading or watching it but the mind that created it? This is a fundamental point to grasp. CHC, Vol. 1.
Understand the Dark and Light
“People do and must hate the disturber of their emotional security … There is little use fighting devils when you don’t know why the devils are there in the first place.” Wilhelm Reich
Civilizations are destroyed because of deviation from Nature that leads to falsification and corruption of truth. Looking at our present civilization, there is a strong resemblance to the final days of Atlantis and Maldek just before they were destroyed, with the same emphasis placed on technology, misuse of life-force (sexual deviancy), prevalence of materiast values, disturbance of peoples minds, inequality, abuse of power, social injustice and fraudulent religious leaders.
The root key to all of this stems back to the deviation and misuse of life force (sexuality associated with Serpent and Maldek). The worst of these deeds is the harming of innocence (children) which sets forth a vibratory distortion ripple that effects virtually every facet of this civilization. The deviation and distortion of life force results in recurring cycles of abuse, war and corruption in all of its various permutations.
Within our sexual chakra lies the keys that contain the memory of what has been hidden and what has been destroyed. Today we see on a global scale that the sacred energies of sexual life-force are being harnessed for destruction rather than spiritual evolution. Our collective life-force needs to be purified, lifted from the hidden corners of the unconscious and redirected into channels of positive co-creation.
A New Civilization
The end of the present civilization and its way of life is the only way the noosphere can manifest. If the old civilization did not undergo a collapse we would not really understand, as a species, that evolution, from now on, is mental and spiritual in nature. This is the message of the Cosmic History Chronicles. –CHC, Vol. 1
Civilization happens in cycles; the end of one is the birth of another. When the whole earth is plunged into darkness we have to know how to find our inner light. This is the light of truth or solar consciousness. Only when we seek true understanding into the nature of all beings can we begin to feel ourselves as part of a Greater story that links our ‘local self’ to universal patterns of a script that is cosmic in origin.
To see in wholes one must disengage their emotional body from the projections on the screen and learn to balance the tension of the opposites (light/dark).To hold the tension of the opposites is to transcend emotional attachments and to not be swayed by outer circumstances. This is the key to attain the point of equilibrium that precedes the understanding of what it means to be “in the world, but not of it.”
In the far recesses of our mind is a storehouse of memory of other worlds and other times. What people call ‘enlightenment’ is merely the continuous unbroken contact with our True Essence. This Essence has a direct hotline to vast databanks of memory and knowledge. Everybody has the ability to access this, but few, it seems, are inspired to do the work it takes to realize it.
Our consciousness and society are profoundly affected by the calendar that we use.
Time is the atmosphere of the mind. We perceive time with our minds, not with any of the five basic senses. A calendar is an artificial construct whose primary purpose is to keep track of time, most commonly to keep track of the passing of days. Because time is mentally perceived, the calendar we use creates constructs of the mind. Hence, the way we keep track of the passing of days creates constructs of consciousness within the society that is largely coordinated by its calendar.
Our minds our cramped and constipated by living within artificial and erroneous time constructs, in particular, the 12-month calendar and the 60-minute clock.
These artificial time constructs have little to no relevance to any natural cycles. They interrupt the natural, intuitive flow of consciousness, with glitches in the operating system, such as not knowing the day of the week while knowing the day of the month, and not being able to calculate weeks according to months. For example, you may know it is Friday July 22, but do you know what day of the week August 22nd will be?
Those who created the calendar were those who maintained control over their society, for the people depended on the calendar keepers for their most basic needs, such as knowing planting times for agriculture. Anything that a people relies on for its essential needs can easily become an instrument of societal control.
And calendars are programming devices.
A society’s calendar is that society’s macro-program, its operating system. To structure a calendar for a people is to structure society for that group of people, those who intend to coordinate and communicate with each other and form a society.
A society is practically defined, regulated and coordinated by the calendar that it uses. All
of the beliefs, customs, and institutions of the society that uses that calendar are programmed into that calendar. Confusion is often intentional, and power is often corrupt at its deepest levels and applications. In this case, the applications have created artificial time, confused mind, and imbalanced and disconnected society. Knowing this, we must reconsider our submission to this intentionally flawed program.
The League of Nations called for calendar reform in 1923, but the Vatican did not want to give up its control with its human societal operating system.
In May 1926, George Eastman wrote, “In 1922, the League of Nations appointed a Committee of Inquiry to study the question of calendar reform. More than 130 (185) different proposals were submitted to the committee, but the Cotsworth Plan is the one outstanding proposal that meets the needs of business organizations such as the International Chamber of Commerce, the NY State Chamber of Commerce… and is fast gaining favor among business men. In fact, many concerns have already adopted a thirteen-month calendar for their records and are already getting some of the advantages of the proposed plan…”
We did not choose this nonsense.
The legal code of the United States does not specify an official national calendar. Use of the Gregorian calendar in the United States stems from an Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom in 1751, The British Calendar Act of 1751, which specified use of the Gregorian calendar in England and its colonies.
Bolivian president wants to ditch the 12-month calendar for 13 months of 28 days
In 2016, “Bolivian President Evo Morales proposed that the Andean country switch back from the Gregorian calendar to the calendar previously used by its indigenous people. During celebrations for the Aymara New Year, Mr. Morales said that he found the Gregorian calendar “untidy.” Mr. Morales said the indigenous calendar, in which a year has 13 months of 28 days each, was much “tidier” than the Gregorian one, in which the length of the months can vary between 28 and 31 days.”
Unification According to a Biologically Harmonic Standard
The Thirteen Moon Calendar, currently used in over 80 countries on Earth, belongs to no religion, is purely non- sectarian, democratically embracing all beliefs and holds a peaceful balance between the various solar and lunar calendars used around the world synchronizing all other calendars. Its use will not only reestablish harmony as an intrinsic value of life, but make accounting easier and provide for a perpetual calendar for all the holidays, i.e., July 4, would now be Cosmic Moon 8, and would always fall on a Sunday.
There is only one way to establish a lunar solar society, because there is only oneway to have a lunar and solar calendar. The Moon revolves around Earth 13 times, during the time Earth revolves around the Sun once. Therefore, to have a lunar solar calendar, we need 13 months per year, not 12. 52 = 13 x 4 is the key.
We have the opportunity to collectively use this simple truth and establish a new lunar solar society, directly leading to the minds and actions of our people being harmonized on a 28-day biological standard in tune with the reality of our natural surroundings, and therefore release ourselves, as a sovereign people, from the male-dominant control of the corrupt and yet ruling elite on Earth.
No matter what the establishment of a lunar solar society may mean to humanity and the biosphere, it is clear that there is one way to coordinate and regulate society according to the natural timing of the Moon and the Sun, both at once: 52 weeks of 7 days each is exactly the same as 13 equal months of 4 weeks each, which is exactly the same as 13 equal months of 28 days each.
Note: A quarter, or season, is roughly 91 days, which is 13 weeks.
13 28-day months is exactly the same as four quarter-years of 91 days each.
The highest purpose of a calendar is not merely to establish a lunar solar society.
The highest purpose of a calendar is to harmonize the mind with nature, to measure natural cycles in time, and to place a society in a state of harmony and synchronization with the biosphere, and with itself. It is the most fundamental organizing principle of human society. The 13-month, 28-day calendar serves these purposes.
“Calendars have changed before to suit contemporary needs and philosophies. Some changes have been in the direction of simplifications and we have inherited the benefits; sometimes not. We have the same rights, the same incentives, and equal abilities, to better our customs, habits, and social structures.
It is our duty to make them more fitted to our new world, not only for us but also for the sake of those to follow. Such mechanical things may seem insignificant and bothersome to make, but they have tremendous spiritual effects. To simplify our calendar may be a first step in taking hold of other things we have inherited, and that, although requiring change, we cannot change because we hold them in awe, or reverence, or by habit, or in fear.
A new calendar for a new world is befitting the times.” – Enoch Karrer, 1942
“I am in favor of a standardized calendar for the whole world… I am always ready to endorse any honest movement that will help unify the peoples of the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi
I had the honor to know the late philosopher and artist, José Argüelles. He was an author, a visionary and a genius. He taught at Princeton and other Universities, and founded Whole Earth Festival in 1970. He invented (with the assistance of his wife Lloydine) the perpetual Dreamspell calendar in 1992, which is a modern day usable version of the ancient Mayan Calendar. At one point in his career José spoke to the United Nations. In his speech he stressed that it is essential for the world to stop using the Gregorian calendar for the good of all humanity. This plea sadly fell on deaf ears.
Recently, I saw the inspiring documentary film called Time is Art: Synchronicity & the Collective Dream. The film’s theme and title are inspired by José Argüelles and is dedicated to his radical views of time. The film follows writer, Jennifer Palmer’s spiritual awakening as she moves from being a material world based person who lacks purpose in her life, to a spiritual and creative oriented person who lives a life directed by synchronicities. Along the way she comes to believe that there is a new society being born, where people will unhook from their enslaving patters of monitoring and being monitored by time. A world where they will stop being controlled by clocks, watches and the Gregorian Calendar.
Most of us never realize that the Western Calendar introduced in 1582 by Pope Gregory, took the western world off the 13 moon Julian calendar. José Argüelles felt that when humanity stopped using a calendar which was in harmony with the moon cycles and seasons we became vulnerable to entrapment as consumers and workers. We stopped flowing and appreciating nature, spirituality and our creativity. This is a tendency Jose saw as beginning the introduction of mechanized time.
Before the 1300’s there were no mechanical clocks. Time was not very uniform to say the least. In the early 1500’s watches were invented. At the dawn of the 20th century, by the end of World War I in 1918, it had become expected that most adults wore wrist watches. This change represents the transformation of society and the roles humans were demanded to play in it.
In the movie, Time is Art, the premise is stated that time and how we interpret and cope with it, is a choice most people never realize they have. Jennifer realizes that as she begins paying attention to the coincidences and synchronicities that occur in her life, she begins to relate to time in a different way. Simple things as being struck by the fact that she recurrently sees the number 11.11, as well as numbers that are of great significance for her, becomes an opening to view time differently. She feels more open, at peace and creatively inspired.
Throughout Time is Art, we get to follow the heroin on her quest to open up to a more spiritual outlook on life. She converses with many wonderfully eloquent people: from Graham Hancock and Rupert Sheldrake to street artists and intuitives, all of who speak to a different way of helping Jennifer on her journey through life and the understanding of time.
Breaking away from the Julian Calendar which was in harmony with the moon cycles moved people farther away from nature. The same is true when people moved from telling time by the position of the sun to telling it by mechanical devices. When humans are aware of nature and its cycle they are more likely to realize that just being and enjoying are fine pastimes. One does not have to work from 9 to 5 and purchase or consume. In the film there are scenes in Joshua Tree, California at the Synchronicity Symposium at the Institute of Mentalphysics as well as the California Red Woods where this point is struck home very strongly.
José Argüelles created the Dreamspell calendar because he believed that the Maya people understood time better than any other civilization. Therefore, they had the most accurate calendar system available to any culture. Their calendar provided them with both a physical and spiritual perspective on time. One that he felt no calendar today could offer.
The Mayans utilized the 28-day human female biological cycle for the physical aspect of time. Because it so closely followed the cycle of the moon, it was readily observable and of course, all women naturally follow that cycle anyway. They also used a sacred calendar known as the Tzolkin. This calendar is a cycle of 260 days comprised of smaller cycles of 13 and 20 days each, turning concurrently. The Maya claimed that the spiritual cycle came to them from the stars, or from the galaxy. They were aware of all the planets in the solar system, even though they did not have the use of telescopes. The spiritual cycle was overlaid with the physical cycle to provide them with an accurate perspective on time, including all aspects of life. Today countless people across the globe start their mornings with the DreamSpell calendar to see what their day will consist of, and how to harmonize themselves with nature.
Time is Art also has wonderful insights into synchronicities and coincidences. One of my personal favorites is when Gram Hancock points out the amazing coincidence that just at the time when the Amazon Jungle is shrinking, Ayahuasca has emerged and become the consciousness raising substance choice of today’s youth. As if the rainforest itself is calling out and start to communicate directly to people by one of its most potent plants.
I cannot end this article without praising the writers, directors and producers of Time is Art. Katy and Joel Mejia of Things Are Changing Productions, along with Maia Monasterios and Jennifer Palmer have done a phenomenal job. The visual effects are beautiful and the film leaves the viewer inspired and more open to seeing the world in a different light.
Writer, Jennifer Palmer and producers, Katy and Joel Mejia, in collaboration with Stephanie South and the Law of Time Foundation are currently working on the Time is Art book. Also in the works also in collaboration with the Law of Time is the second documentary in the series, Time is Art: When the Grandmothers Speak, (working title), inspired by the Hopi Indian prophecy, “When the grandmothers speak the earth will be healed”. The film follows Rome, an artist and rapper who studies the Dreamspell calendar and seeks to understand how the rise of the sacred feminine can help the shift in planetary consciousness in these troubled times. As with the first film, the filmmakers use synchronicity to guide during the storytelling process.

“Evolution has evolved its own evolvability with the arrival of… Us!” – Jason Silva
Here’s what I know about the Noosphere: I know there is a concept that imagines human beings in an active state of evolution, not an evolution of form, but an evolution of consciousness. The concept suggests that mankind is unfinished, that he has farther to go in his mental status. Our species is in line for an awakening, an advancement in the main nexus of awareness that goes beyond our material and temporal habits of thought during the last few thousand years.
Since I’m part of that nexus, it’s hard to imagine what such a transformation might look like, or how it might feel, or just what it means to experience a change of consciousness from what has been the norm of my culture for all of recorded history. But I’m game to give it a try.
For starters, what’s a noosphere? It’s best described as a layer of collective human intelligence that is part of the planet Earth, like an atmosphere, only it’s mental. Noos comes from the Greek, it means mind. It’s a concept that first appeared in the early ferment of the 20th century. There was a lot of intellectual activity at that time. That’s when Einstein offered a description of reality that ushered in the era of the modern mind, a mind that was forced to consider mind expanding concepts like the speed of light, or the quantum nature of reality, or the size of an atom, or the age of mankind. The idea of the noosphere was percolating at that moment, the way other ideas like the theory of evolution, or the design of the automobile were being worked on simultaneously by several forward thinking and unique individuals. There was a Russian named Vernadsky, and he was in touch with a Jesuit paleontologist named Chardin, and between them they took the idea very far, especially Teillard de Chardin, who is my source for the idea.
Chardin’s way of describing the Noosphere was introduced in the West at the time of his death in the mid-1950’s, but he and Vernadsky were working it out back in the 20’s and 30’s. Chardin was trained as a scientist, and also, as a priest. He was a French Jesuit paleontologist who was present in China in the 1920’s when archeologists first discovered proto-human remains that pushed the known age of human ancestors back hundreds of thousands of years. Chardin was a restless intellectual, he had a predilection for rigorous training and mystical perception, and the result was a body of written work that is staggeringly brilliant, though densely filagreed with detailed exposition that endeavors to draw associations to stages of evolution and to stages of being. I read his book, “The Phenomenon of Man” during my summer break between my freshman and sophomore years at college, and though I’ve only read the book that one time, I’ve been guided in my thinking these last 40 years by the ideas I discovered between the covers of that book.
Down in Zucotti Park, the locus of origin of the movement known as Occupy Wall Street, an unemployed carpenter refers to the way the protesters have to communicate with each other as “an architecture of consciousness.” He’s not trying to be poetic, he wants to be descriptive. The police have forbidden the use of bullhorns, so the OWSers spread the message one person at a time.
But there is definitely poetry here. OWSers are criticized for having an incoherent message, but I see the message in the medium, just as Marshall McLuhan surmised. The medium, in this case, is the crowd of humanity itself. The message is the creation of a new architecture of consciousness. That is the goal, but it’s hard to imagine how we get there from here.
An Architecture of Consciousness exactly defines the Noosphere. The Noosphere is a design for an architecture of global consciousness. The handful of individuals who have endeavored to give definition to the Noosphere concept suggest we’re in for a dawning of a new type of awareness. Human beings are going to activate a dormant element of their psychic infrastructure and find it is inhabiting a new mindspace.
I’m not psychic, but I’ve seen mental telepathy in action, and I’ve had experiences while using psychedelic drugs that I was convinced were telepathic in nature. But I don’t quite see how a general human population with psychic ability, the ability to read one another’s thought, might actually work, or how it would change human behavior. But I can think of a couple of pathways that might help to imagine it. One path is through psychedelic experiences, and the other is through the Cloud, as in cloud computing.
One of the strongest lessons that people are learning from the use of psychoactive entheogens is the direct perception and the deep understanding of just how gloriously embedded we are in the bosom of Mother Nature. In the 1970’s two scientists named Lovelock and Margulis introduced the Gaia Hypothesis to describe the behavior of the planet as it is observed through scientific measurement. A generation later, the Gaia Hypothesis is now Gaia Theory, because more time and observation have strengthened the core idea. Science now has a comfort level with the body of Gaia, and now some scientists are using hallucinogenic plants to explore the Mind of Gaia.
In the Peruvian Amazon, the shamans who use the tea they make from a leaf and a vine say that when they drink the tea they can communicate directly with intelligences that identify themselves as belonging to the plant kingdom. They call these intelligences teachers, because that is the way the people in that part of the world have learned to create medicines from plants, and because people believe the “medicine” teaches profound truths.
When I was at the shaman Guillermo Arevalo’s retreat in Peru, I filmed a scene between a scientist with a background in biomedical research and an artist with a refined talent for drawing the human anatomy. Both artist and scientist had come to Guillermo’s to drink the tea they call ayahuasca, because both were interested in researching aspects of their consciousness.
The scientist was Scott Franzblau, Director of the Institute for Tuberculosis Research at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Scott was there because he was looking for insight into the tuberculosis virus. He hoped he might come away from his effort with new ideas for further research.
The artist was a talented young Frenchman who taught anatomical drawing named Eric Avondo. Eric was there to explore his imaginary landscape. When I met him, he had been drinking ayahuasca for more than a month, and he had been keeping a record of his experiences by drawing his visions each morning after participating in the ceremony the night before. His notebook is absolutely stunning, because it documents his ability to learn to navigate the space of the ayahuasca vision. Also, while the visions start out in the sphere of the ego and of the artist himself, over time the visions become more biological, and more detailed. Eric explained to me that each evening, he asks the Mother of Ayahuasca to reveal more information to him. He says that in order to see into biological processes, you have to leave your ego behind and let the pure consciousness take the journey. His images demonstrate concretely what his words struggle to convey.
In the scene I filmed, the scientist sits down at the artist’s drawing table the morning after he and the artist had sat next to each other in an ayahuasca ceremony. The scientist had only been there a week, and his experiences had been powerful, but he had not seen visions of solutions to the problem of tuberculosis.
The artist told him that the vision he was drawing that morning had come to him telepathically during the ceremony. The artist’s vision had come from the scientist!
On camera, the scientist looks at the images and says that the drawings look like the way cellular structures known as lipid bilayers are drawn. Beyond that, he’s at a loss for words. He’s accepting of the core concepts from shamanism of learning about Nature through plant teachers, but he has no experience with such a concrete manifestation of shared thinking.
I tell this story because it’s an obvious example of telepathic communication, and because it occurred while some really serious people were exploring the mysteries of personal consciousness through direct experience by altering the chemistry of their brain cells. Also, this story implies that there is some kind of data bank where knowledge about Nature is stored, and the quest of the participants describes an effort to gain access to this database.
The scientist was looking for new ideas to treat TB. He decided to seek this path after learning that other scientists had successfully had breakthroughs in research that they attributed directly to the use of psychedelics. Kerry Mullis is one individual. Others include Steve Jobs and Albert Hoffman, who discovered LSD. Jeremy Narby, the anthropologist who took the scientist to meet the shaman, had been with a geneticist when she took ayahuasca, and she had a breakthrough vision in which she understood the function of protein landing pads on the DNA molecule and was able to validate her insight when she returned to her lab.
So how do we think coherently about the way this knowledge is received into the human mind by means of chemically altering the brain through plant entheogens? How about a new metaphor?
Marshall McLuhan said new technologies give us new tools for conceptualizing our circumstances. The machines of the Industrial Revolution are extensions of muscles, and came into being when physics described the Universe as a machine that ran like clockwork. The development of electric communications media has given human civilization a planetary nervous system, and turned our world into a Global Village. Now we have advanced computing and hyper-connectivity, including the Cloud. From the Cloud all of human knowledge is available on a digital mobile device.
An iPhone or a Droid can access the Cloud, and perhaps in the same way human beings can access a planetary intelligence where teachers are available to share information of a very high order. And maybe it’s like going to graduate school, where you have to make the choice to seek the information, because the intention signals the aspirant is ready to receive the new lessons.
I started thinking about the way shamans learn about Nature when I heard Terence McKenna describe the shaman as the quintessential figure of the 21st century. I also started thinking about the exponential rate of change because of Terence, so I was excited when I heard about Ray Kurzweil’s description of the Singularity. Ray is a technologist and theoretician whose way of thinking is grounded in Moore’s Law, named for Intel co-founder Gordon Moore. Moore noticed at the beginning of the era of the microchip that the number of transistors that could be put on a chip would double every eighteen months into the foreseeable future, and as this occurred, computers would get smaller and faster and cheaper, and more work would be done in any given moment of time, giving simplicity and credence to the illogical notion that “time is speeding up.”
Ray Kurzweil has advanced the notion that as time speeds up, as humans and computers become more enmeshed, and as technology makes possible the construction of physical things at the level of the individual atom, we are headed for some kind of inevitable transformation of our consciousness that he has labeled a Singularity, because he wants to infer a change so profound that it’s as though it is outside the boundaries of our conventional thought process. That’s why the Big Bang, the event that got the Universe started, is called a singularity, because it’s outside the known laws of physics that emerge as a result of its occurrence.
Ray: “What will happen when and if greater-than-human intelligence is created, either by enhancing the human or building an artificial intelligence? Already, technological advances pave the way for further technological advances at an ever-accelerating rate; if intelligence itself could be brought to engineer still greater intelligence in a strong positive feedback loop, the consequences (for better or for worse) would be unimaginable.
And this: An effective model of the neocortex is coming into focus based on a pattern recognition module which is capable of recognizing and predicting patterns… Each of us has about a billion such modules in our brain. That has been sufficient to enable humans to dominate the planet but not sufficient for us to solve our most pressing problems. So why not increase this to ten billion or a trillion? That is where we are headed as we merge with our intelligent technology.
I went to the Singularity Summit in New York recently because I wanted to see how the Noosphere concept might fit with the concepts that Ray Kurzweil has done so much to articulate. The schedule was packed with presentations with headings like “The Human Brain in Jeopardy: Computers that Think” and “Planetary-Scale Intelligence,” and “The Neurobiology and Mathematics of Consciousness,” so I got there early enough to get my press pass and grab a seat in the spacious auditorium of the 92nd St.Y. It was still before 8AM, the time when Ray’s keynote address was scheduled to begin, so I went into the banquet room for some coffee. I heard a voice that had a sing-song cadence and stocatto word delivery that caught my mind pattern and entrained itself to my thoughts. I didn’t know who I was listening to but I knew I was definitely at the Singularity Summit.
“…What new forms of artistry are going to unfold? Nanotechnology: what are we going to MAKE? So that’s kind of like, where I come in. My inspiration is… Freeman Dyson, the physicist, he talks about, like, infinity in all directions, and he has this wonderful line where he says that this new generation of artists are going to be writing genomes the way that Blake and Byron wrote verses. He said it at a dinner at TED organized by the Edge Foundation, it was about the new age of wonder. He went from chemistry and physics to a new age of biology and computation. He’s at the next level. He understands that combination between art and science, sort of that dance, you know, where you need to change people’s consciousness.
I glanced at this guy’s nametag. I was being entrained by Jason Silva.
“People think of technology they think of like, metallic objects but they don’t really understand that technology’s a conduit for human flourishing, right?, a prosthesis that extends the thought reach of the human consciousness and extends the boundaries of the human mind, you know, whether the iPhone is the extended mind, you know, outsourced cognition,, or you know the technology of music to make symphonies or the technology of oil painting like when it was Van Gogh and Picasso. So what new forms of art will come out of synthetic biology and technology and…?”
And just like that, I found what I had come there to find. But I still had to pour myself a cup of coffee.
Listening to Jason talking in the flesh, and since then watching his videos on YouTube and Vimeo, I’m hearing a voice that is seamlessly blending the themes behind my idea of an emerging Noosphere. Jason is in love with the idea of the Singularity and it has set his imagination on fire. He’s articulating the inevitability of some kind of technological deliverance into a new human state of being, but he’s also well versed in the wetter concepts such as the Universe being embedded with intelligence. He’s describing the Rainbow Bridge I’ve been seeking.
When I became aware of Ray Kurzweil and the Singularity, I noticed that one of Ray’s conclusions about the human journey is this: “It is the destiny of Mankind to seed the Universe with intelligence.” That seems kind of mechanistic to me. It reminds me of Rene Descartes who said, “I think, therefore I am.” Since Descartes, human culture in the West has thought of intelligence and consciousness as something that is located within the confines of the skull, and is unique to the individual.
But scientific and technological breakthroughs have yielded new metaphors to re-conceptualize intelligence and consciousness. We’ve got wireless communication and cloud computing, so thinking about fields of intelligence becomes easier for Westerners to do. So I contrast Kurzweil’s idea of human destiny with Amazonian shamanism, which says that it is the destiny of human beings to perceive that the Universe is already intelligent and to awaken to that reality.
Trying to verbally express what we’re really talking about when we’re talking about the Noosphere, the self-reflecting field of awareness that we may be on the cusp of manifesting, is hard to do. So far, I’ve established that the quest is more than building a technical infrastructure, though that’s half of it, but it’s the meta part of it, the actual state of awareness that I’m interested in. And I believe that psychedelic experience is revealing to more and more people that there is an aspect of consciousness that is not generally part of their normal state of awareness, and it’s somehow bigger than we are. It’s an intelligence that can reveal information about the way the world works, and how things are so interconnected. And the experience of encountering this intelligence, this Other, is humbling and deeply profound, as it teaches all the while.
Just listen to Jason Silva talk about the influence of psychedelics on the development of our digital universe:
It’s interesting to draw comparisons between psychedelics and computers, but you know, Timothy Leary used to say you take psychedelics to get rid of your mental filters, to get rid of your pre-conceptions, to sort of expand your sphere of possibility, to unbound, to free your mind, right, and when he saw the potential of computers and the internet he came out in the 90’s as a techno-optimist and said, “The computers are the LSD of the nineties!” not to mention the fact that a lot of the engineers who invented the personal computer and the micro-processor, who re-conceived of computers as these big Von Neumann centralized things into these tools that could free individual minds, to be extensions of individual minds, they were all tripping when they had those realizations and those A-Ha moments to begin with…
…but I think that’s what computers do to each and every one of us, I mean these forms of technology extend the reach of each and every one of us and extends our ability to create connections with one another, so we all become nodes in this, like, macro-brain, and, I think the emergent properties of self-organization that we find at other scales of reality, will start to occur on this scale of reality… but at the same time, you can sort of like surf that wave of bliss so much farther, you know, we don’t have to worry about gravity or temperature or distance, it’s just kind of like, your mind can soar through the Cosmos, in a way, just like with the psychedelics, you know? …The fact that the guys who discovered the DNA molecule were said to have tripped on acid is not a coincidence, either.
Simon Powell just published “The psilocybin Solution.” Here is the best book on the subject of the way consciousness is altered by psilocybin mushrooms. It surveys the history of the use of the plant, and makes clear how briefly the knowledge of the experience has been available to western minds. (I used mushrooms in the early 70’s when I lived in North Florida. I picked strofaria cubensis right out of the cow patties). Powell reminds the reader that using mushrooms is not a party drug experience. The encounter is too serious and filled with meaning. And it’s this aspect of the profundity that accompanies the experience that makes me wonder about the way the Noosphere might come into existence, and how it might change our way of thinking. Powell shows us that the Other is out there. But in the future, will we have to alter our brain chemistry to have contact with it, or might there be some shift, some change of vibration, some way that we might be entrained by its presence as a normal part of our walking around awareness?
“… if the evolution of organic life and human consciousness represents the inexorable unfolding of a potential woven into the fabric of Nature, then what further potential is yet to be expressed? P237
…reality as we know it might be coded to produce some climactic output at some latter stage of its evolutionary progression. Equally plausible is the idea that our interconnected computer technology might spawn some new level of informational cohesion- a kind of virtual dimension into which the agency of human consciousness can be transferred. In point of fact … through the rise of telecommunications and computing technology, the Earth does seem to be wiring itself up into an integrated digital network, a bioelectronics entity in which widely dispersed informational systems like the human psyche can instantly communicate with one another across the globe. This magical technology, similar as it is to the communicational activity of the synapsing neuronal brain, is clearly evolving at an unprecedented rate, and the eventual emergence of a more “tangible” cyberspatial dimension of some kind seems assured. Indeed, judging by the boom in media speculation about the near future of computing systems along with the escalating popularity of Internet-enabled WiFi phones, it would appear that a fully immersive cyberspace of one sort of another is within reach. P238
The Singularity is near, indeed.
…When one has encountered the Other through the visionary effects of a strong dose of psilocybin mushrooms, it becomes quite evident that, whatever the Other’s ultimate intent, consciousness is an essential part of the plan. P246
I like this next quote because it sounds like the way Kurzweil describes how artificial intelligence can write software based on feedback. Perhaps, as in fractal geometry, this is true at all scales of Nature.
I provided the reader with a model of consciousness that views it as a flowing pattern of information generated within an intelligent, self-organizing Universe. Once one has accepted that we and all other patterns of information are natural expressions of a self-writing language-based Universe, that Nature is everywhere smart and contextually significant, then one is compelled to go on to examine the “meaning of it all.” P249
Contextually significant. In Aldous Huxley’s “The Doors of Perception” the main thrust of the description of his experience using mescaline is how ordinary reality is pervaded by significance when one is under its influence. It seems that in the right frame of mind, everything has meaning, and there is no concern with time. Every moment is an eternal present, and there is a desire to be fully conscious and awake.
Recently a group of Mayan elders led by Humbatz Men made a journey to sacred sites across the USA, and they had with them 13 crystal human skulls. The origin of the skulls is lost, and all that’s left is an ancient mystery. The Mayans believe they are fulfilling a prophesy by bringing the skulls together at this time and performing ceremonies that are designed to invoke their power, a power which is said to involve the ability of human beings to gain access to the cosmic database. I have no idea if this is the case, but what if it is a literal truth?
Perhaps the most notable conveyor of the idea of the Noosphere in recent times has been Jose Arguelles. Arguelles just died, but he has left us with a beautifully written book he calls “Manifesto for the Noosphere.” He clearly envisions a new synthesis of collective human awareness, a new state of mind that is a shared experience.
“Just as the biosphere is the unified field of life and its support systems…so the noosphere is the unified field of the mind, the psychic reflection of the biosphere. Because we as a species, the aggregate of consciousness-bearing cells of the evolving Earth, are not yet awake to our role as a planetary organism, so too the noosphere is not yet fully conscious. When humanity becomes conscious of itself as a single organism and unites to activate the noosphere, we will find the collective resolve and will to reconstruct the biosphere and divert the energy of the human race from a path of destruction based on a mechanized abstraction from nature to a new harmonic order of super-organic reality based on an entirely different state of consciousness than has yet existed on Earth.”
Somehow, part of the description for how we get there from here is caught up in our perception of time. Mostly, our way of thinking about time is by thinking about the big hand and the little hand on a clock. Time is linear, and we perceive it when we pay attention to the phase of the moon, or the rising and setting sun. And of course, we get older day by day.
Arguelles insists we can’t awaken to the Noosphere unless we adopt a new calendar, the Mayan calendar. The Mayan calendar pays attention to different cycles of nature during the course of the year. The Tzolkin is 260 days, the same amount of time that is required for a human being to gestate in the womb. There are signs for days based on other systems that use the numbers 13 and 20. And most intriguing, they ascribe specific qualities to specific days. In essence, the Maya believe there are many different types of time. Arguelles believed that for 21st century humans to transition into a new state of being, we are going to have to learn “to be” in time like the Maya.
So maybe Terence McKenna got it right when he called the shaman the quintessential figure of the 21st century. Shamans have a technique for entering into conversation with the Other. This knowledge that the shamans possess has become a new meme in the global culture and it’s being amplified by its presence in the Cloud. Jeremy Narby has been conducting live webinars in conversation with experts who have extensive experience with the ayahuasca vision quest. The Cisco Systems web environment normally conversing about corporate matters is now pulsing to life an Earth based New Human Sentience.
And as heady as all this is, I know its essence is easily found in a still moment, sitting in a canoe on a lake at sunset and becoming aware of a pink lily, and on the tip of the lily there’s a drop of water, and when I look into the drop of water, I can see everything.
Melbourne based holistic partnership Soul Symmetry International will host the official Australian Premiere of ‘Time is Art’ on February 12th. The launch for this inspirational independent film was a sell out in New York. Mark Bentley of Perth, Australia will also bring the film to theaters via the grassroots crowdsourcing platform Tugg.com on April 27th.
Widespread international interest for this project has encouraged the Eastern Suburbs duo to present this evocative documentary film to enthusiastic Australians.
Multi-published author and spiritualist, Anthony Kilner of Soul Symmetry International believes there is a growing demand from Australian audiences for films that combine imagination, spiritual purpose and inspiration.
“There has been overwhelming interest from the public about this film. Presenting it as an Australian first in Melbourne is very exciting.” He said.
Chris Mackey, Psychologist and author of ‘Synchronicity’ will be doing a talk based on his own experiences with synchronicity at the premiere.
This beautifully filmed documentary explores many of the theories of acclaimed and visionary author, José Argüelles’. It explores his studies in ancient indigenous wisdom and the idea that modern humanity is immersed in an erroneous and artificial perception of time that deviates from the natural order of the universe. Filmmakers Katy Walker, Joel Mejia and Maia Monasterios believe that for those paying attention, we are living in extraordinary times. Katy, went on to say, “Independent voices have risen to educate the people about what is really going on. Time Is Art was born from the combination of necessity and opportunity.”
ShirleySienna Coventry believes that Australian audiences are hungry for films that explore important ideas that create a more balanced world. Soul Symmetry International is passionate about filling this void.” She said.
The journey of a writer, compelled to make sense of the mysterious and powerful energy she felt at her aunt’s deathbed is followed. Considering herself a skeptic, a series of strange coincidences leads her on an exploration of synchronicity. The premise that we have become disconnected from the natural rhythms of the earth by focusing only on money, consumerism and exploitation is explored.
Jacob Devaney of Uplift.com said, “Science continues to validate the power of art to effect consciousness. This film asks us to consider what life would look like if it was valued through the lens of art instead of time or money.”
The film received Documentary Feature Official Selection for the Blow-Up Chicago International Arthouse Film Festival 2015. The premiere will be held on February 12th, 2016 at 7pm at Karralyka Centre Theatre, Mines Road, Ringwood, Victoria.
We’ll also be broadcasting live the ‘Time is Art’ post screening discussions with Chris Mackey live this Friday in Melbourne and April 27th in Perth (speaker TBA).
